Jillian Ormond was crowned the new Miss
Salem at the city's scholarship pageant, held in the Salem Hills
High School auditorium earlier this evening. The new Miss Salem will
reign throughout the coming year with Kalli Bennett, awarded the
First Attendant title, Melanie Griffiths as Second Attendant, and
Rebecca Davis, who walked away with the Third Attendant crown during
the May 26 competition that included ten contestants in all.
Melanie Griffiths was also awarded one
of two Miss Photogenic prizes. Megan Morley received the additional
Miss Photogenic honor. The Community Service Award was later presented to McKensey Taylor. The
Spirit of the Pageant was presented to Afton Chambers.
