Local Nonprofit Raising Funds for Orphanage in West Africa; ABA Students Cut and Style for the Cause

Students at American Beauty Academy in Payson (pictured below) contributed their earnings after a full day of providing haircuts, styles, and services last month to help raise funds for a local charity, Nurturing Nations.  The non-profit was started by Laura Belk (pictured, left, American Beauty Academy) of West Mountain to sustain her ongoing endeavor to provide a safe home and space for learning for abandoned special needs children in Ghana, Africa.  With these and other funds, a new orphanage will take form in a village in Ghana. Ms. Belk’s project receives a great amount of help on the ground from Percy Gogoe (pictured, right), who traveled from his home in Ghana last month to help with Nurturing Nation’s efforts in Utah.  Pick up a copy of next week’s edition of The Payson Chronicle to find out more about this incredible story and how you can help.
