Mourning the Passing of Friends: Forthcoming Funeral Service

“What we have once enjoyed we can never lose.
All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” ~ Helen Keller Forthcoming funeral services are planned for the following friends from our community. Complete versions of these obituaries may also be found in The Payson Chronicle.

COLLEEN WOOLSEY

Our sweet mother and grandmother, Colleen Greenhalgh Woolsey, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2020. Colleen was born in Palmyra, Utah on April 24, 1936 to Nolan Greenhalgh and Margaret Ottesen. She lived her entire life in Santaquin, Utah in the home she was raised in.
Colleen married Therold Woolsey September 4, 1953 and they were later sealed for time and eternity in the Manti Temple. Therold passed away August 15, 2011.
Mom was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life. Mom was the Avon lady for many years, worked at the Santaquin pharmacy, and retired from the Nebo School District as a Title One Technician.  She loved spending time with her family.  She loved to sing, but her passion was gardening. Throughout her life, she was an exceptional cook and homemaker.  She did some traveling, which she loved. One of her favorite trips was to Alaska.  She was always positive, saw the good in others, and was a caring and compassionate person.  She looked forward to meeting her friends to celebrate their birthdays and driving up Santaquin Canyon.
Colleen is survived by her children, Mike (Julie), Cliff, Catherine (Frank), Christopher (Laura), Jaynann (Victor); grandchildren, Shae, Jake, Kade, Jessica, Ted, Nicole, Brooke, Brady, Jason, Jennifer, Maria and Kylie; twelve great grandchildren; and sisters, Karen Brereton and Pat Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband Therold, daughter Michelle, and grandson Brandon.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 21, 2020, at 12:00 at the Santaquin 5th Ward, 345 West 100 North. There will be a viewing at the church on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm as well as Friday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be at the Santaquin Cemetery.
