Three Elected To Serve On Payson City Council

Voters in Payson have elected Doug Welton, Brian Hulet, and Linda Carter to serve on the five-member Payson City Council.  Based on results posted after the polls closed last night, Mr. Welton received 1250 votes, Mr. Hulet, 1067, and Ms. Carter, 1019.

The three newcomers to the city council will assume the seats of council members Jolynn Ford, Kim Hancock, and Larry Skinner, all incumbent candidates who failed to secure enough votes to continue beyond August's primary to the general election.

With 829 votes, candidate Scott Pinkham was defeated in the race yesterday. A fifth candidate, James Ewell, was disqualified last week after failing to submit his financial disclosures before the deadline, according to Payson City.
