Jeff Hiatt Named Ted Bates Employee of the Year
for Payson City

On Wednesday, December 24, 2014, during the annual Christmas Party for Payson City employees, Lynn Harmer, on behalf of the McMullin Family delivered the following announcement:

As my family read through the nomination letters, it was plain to see that the people of Payson and those who work with Jeff Hiatt hold him in high esteem.

These are some of the comments that we have received about the nominee that is receiving the Ted Bates Award:

“Jeff has worked for Payson City for almost 30 years. During this time he has been able to work for and serve the residents of Payson, along with his fellow employees.  Jeff tries to treat each of his employees fairly. He allows for teaching moments on both sides and is willing to learn from his employees as they are willing to learn from him.”

“Jeff is ALWAYS willing to help not only in his department but also any department in the city. He is the model definition of a working superintendent. Jeff isn't afraid of jumping in and getting dirty, which he does quite regularly down at the sewer plant.”

“Jeff is respected by his fellow coworkers and those he comes in contact with. Jeff has a great personality and is like by everyone. You can always count on Jeff for a good laugh and a bright smile. Even though he might put on a tough exterior he is a great big teddy bear and is willing to help out whenever it’s needed.”

“When residents have issues, he cares enough to help them in any way that he can. His customer service to the public is great; in fact, when people hear Jeff is my boss they always say how he helped them in some way.”

“He is dedicated to his job and always willing to take everyone's crap.”
“He brings a wealth of knowledge to the city.”

Who will receive the the Ted Bates Award this year?  Stay tuned.
