Mourning the Passing of Friends: Forthcoming Funeral Services

Kenneth Paul Cook

Kenneth Paul Cook, age 64 of Goshen, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016 at his home.

He was born July 15, 1952 in Payson, Utah to Kenneth (Kay) Cook and Pauline Warren Myrup. He was raised by Darthella Butler Cook.

He graduated from Payson High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a forklift operator at the Tooele Army Depot for 5 years and he was a Professional  Race Horse Jockey for 28 years.  He was a member of the American Racing Association, The American Quarter Horse Association and The Utah Thoroughbred Association. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include: his mom, Darthella Cook, Goshen; siblings, Lynda (Merlin) Maynard, West Valley City; Roger (Loy) Hanna, Cypress, California; Sharon (Ron) Hurst, Spring Lake; Kayleen (Buck) Peak, Boise, Idaho; Brad (Linda) Myrup, West Valley City; Sarah McKowen, Goshen; Gregg (Bonnie) Myrup, Orem; Donna Lance (Larry), Goshen; Penny (Mike) Boel, Nephi. A special cousin, Gordon (Ann) Kirk, Spanish Fork. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth P. Cook and Pauline W. Myrup; a brother, Danny Myrup and his favorite dog, Bailey. 

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 13, 2016, 11:00 a.m., in the Goshen LDS Chapel, 90 South Center Street. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Friday, 6-8:00 p.m. or at the church Saturday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Goshen City Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by the American Legion, Post 174.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Bonnie B. and Lorrie S. at I-Care Hospice and to our sister Sarah for their compassionate and loving care.
