Mourning the Passing of Friends: Forthcoming Funeral Services

Forthcoming funeral services are planned for the following friends from our community. Complete versions of these obituaries may also be found in The Payson Chronicle.

ALMA NISONGER WILSON
Alma Nisonger Wilson, age 94, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2019 at his home in Payson, Utah 20 feet from where he was born. He was born on December 1, 1924 in Payson to Robert Henry and Zelphia Nisonger Wilson. He married Margene Linnea Porter on August 20, 1950 in the Logan Utah Temple.

Alma served in the US Army during the Korean War. His life was a great example of hard work. He spent a number of years working as the Water Master and Street Superintendent for Payson city. He worked as a farmer and rancher until he was 91 years old! He had many memorable experiences with his cows, horses and sheep at his ranch in Wyoming. He took care of his wife for several years before she passed away, always providing his quiet, steady service. He had quite the sense of humor and was always making those around him laugh with his stories and jokes. His example of service, humor and love has been a great blessing to his family. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Alma was preceded in death by his wife, Margene, daughter Judy Dimond, grandsons James and Steven Davis, his parents and siblings Rhea, Gordon, Herbert and Elna. He is survived by his daughter Mary Ann Davis (Dale), Phoenix, AZ; son Charlie (Charity), Pleasant Grove, UT; son John (Jeanine), South Jordan, UT; daughter Janette Judy (Curt), Ashton, ID; son-in-law Dave Dimond (Anne), Springville, UT; 21 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 14, 2019 at 11:00 am at the LDS chapel on 789 Arrowhead Trail, Payson, UT. A viewing will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Walker Funeral Home, 587 S 100 W, Payson, UT. and prior to the funeral at the chapel from 9:45-10:45 am.   Interment will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
