Mourning the Passing of Friends: Forthcoming Funeral Services

Forthcoming funeral services are planned for the following friends from our community. Complete versions of these obituaries may be found in The Payson Chronicle and on our website at paysonchronicle.com.

MADISON JOHN (JACK) ARGYLE
Madison John Argyle, (Jack), age 92, left us on December 20, 2016, to spend eternity with his loving wife, Shirley, who he has missed tremendously.
        
Jack was born October 30, 1924 to Ivan Madison and Venetta Betts Argyle of Payson, UT. He was the oldest of 5 children.  He was a member of the LDS Church and later held the position as a High Priest.
        
He joined the Army in 1944 where he fought for our country during WWII. Upon returning, he worked at Ironton Steel Mill in Springville and retired from The Dugway Proving Grounds.
        
After he returned home from the war, he married Shirley Holm of Spanish Fork, Utah on September 29, 1948. where  they were later sealed in the Manti Temple.
        
They had 3 beautiful children together: Douglas and Judy Argyle, Kent and Patricia Horrocks, Darrell Argyle and Kim.
        
He loved playing his harmonica any time somebody would give him a chance, he loved to draw and his favorite pictures were of horses, where he gladly gave them away.  He was even known to have sold a few. And if you ever wanted to say hi, he would have supper at One Man Band most nights of the week. He was a very sociable man who had stories for anybody who had the time.
        
He is survived by his 3 children, a brother Howard Argyle and a sister Laverne Argyle Larsen, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews.
        
He was preceded in death by wife Shirley, his parents, step-mother LaRue Smith Argyle, sister  Lillian Irick, brother Reed, parents-in-law Hans Andrew and Ellieta Beck Holm,  and daughter-in-law Mary Hadfield Argyle.
        
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 12 p.m. at the Payson 15th Ward LDS Chapel, 650 West 800 South, Payson. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 10:15-11:45 a.m. at the church. Friends may call prior to service from 10:15-11:45 a.m.  Burial will be at Payson City Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion.
