Miss Payson Cassidy Gull Reflects on Year as Queen

Miss Payson Cassidy Gull photographed at one of the many community events that she has participated in throughout the year.  Below, Cassidy reflects on the experience, one that began with her being crowned as queen in 2014.  She looks forward, also, to new opportunities, including representing Payson at the Miss Utah 2015 Pageant.

Being able to serve as Miss Payson 2014 was not only an honor but it was a true blessing and I am very grateful I had this opportunity to serve the city of Payson. I would like to thank Payson City for everything this year. It was a privilege to work with Payson City Chamber of Commerce and thank you for letting me get to know you all. I will deeply miss the monthly interactions and each event I attended I always left with a smile on my face. I had so much fun working with all of you. I would like to personally thank the Mayor, Rick Moore, for always being so kind and welcoming to me. We had a great year together and it was such an honor of getting to you know personally. You always made sure my royalty and I were taken care of and I am very thankful for that. I would like to personally thank Smith’s Food and Drug for their services, donations and huge support this year.
Having the opportunity to be Miss Payson is much more than just standing on a float and waving your hand. I discovered that you have many opportunities to serve Payson City and work with amazing people. Over the year I have truly found who I am and have grown from every experience. I absolutely loved getting to know new people and developing new friendships. A big thank you to Makala Swalberg and Anna Fordiani for their services as 1st attendant and 2nd attendant this year. I have no idea what I would have done without them. We built such a strong friendship, and I am very honored to have gotten this opportunity to know you. Thank you for always being there for me and being the best team I could ask for. I would have not been able to do this all on my own so thank you for always having my back. I love you both with all my heart. I had the privilege to promote my platform at the junior highs so I would like to thank Payson Junior High and Mt. Nebo Junior High for letting me come and speak to your students. I am very passionate about my platform and having that experience change me.
I want to thank my family for supporting me through this year. I would have not been able to do it without them. Thank you mom for going to every event and providing the support and love I needed this year. I love you very much and appreciate everything you did for me this year. Thank you dad, for always being there and coming to everything. I love you both very much. Also a huge thanks to my grandparents for their support, I love you guys and I hope I made you all very proud.
I have loved every second of my journey as Miss Payson 2014 and I am very excited and honored to represent our amazing city at the Miss Utah 2015 pageant. I would like to thank Renee Crouch, Nicole Loveless, Jaime Stanton and Danica Olsen for helping me prepare for Miss Utah. Once again, thank you to everyone for making this year, the most amazing year of my life. I have grown up in Payson my whole life and being able to represent and serve Payson was truly an honor.
I am also still collecting shoes for Shoes For Love and I would be very grateful towards anyone who wants to donate their wearable used shoes. I have a box located in Payson at Smith’s. Thank you.
