Daylight Donuts Brings Tried And Proven Recipes And Commitment To The Community

Pictured last week at Daylight Donuts, located just west of the Payson Post Office at 887 East 100 North: Carson and Dylan Argyle, sons of owners Scott and Lisa Argyle; and Rebecca Ekins, shown here at the front counter of Daylight Donuts

Scott and Lisa Argyle decided three years ago to commit themselves to small business, and they found Daylight Donuts an excellent partner for doing that.  They expanded their operation to Payson, where Scott’s parents lived during their retirement years, opening the store on September 23rd.

“A ribbon cutting has been planned for us by the Chamber of Commerce at Noon on December 7th,” Scott reports.  “And our Grand Opening will be held Saturday, December 10th.  We will be having drawings and prizes with free samples that day.”

The Argyles have created a line of drinks to go along with the bakery items.  They brainstormed together to come up with brand: “SIPZZ Mixology Drinks.”  The combination of offerings has proven to complement each other very well.

Having developed their first store in Springville, they are very pleased with the first two months in Payson.  “We learned a lot from our start in Springville,” they explain.

Part of the reason for success is their commitment to operating a family business that can involve the entire family in a fun and enjoyable way.  Along with that they employ seven to help with the baking and sales.  Scott works hard at the business, starting at 2 a.m. to have the donuts and other popular bakery items ready for the early morning customers and throughout the day.

Scott notes that the variety of cake donuts prepared by Daylight Donut recipes are among the most popular offerings with the sour cream cake donut with its glaze and old-fashioned emphasis the most sought after that, along with blueberry, chocolate, and white cake.

“A lot of traffic to the store comes from people like Daylight Donuts,” Scott says, adding that he and Lisa have been fans of the brand for quite some time.  “The Pleasant Grove Daylight Donuts was our ‘go to’ place,” Scott says.  “It was the first Daylight Donuts shop in Utah.”

So it’s natural that Scott and Lisa would feel confident with the brand, and they work hard to promote the business, partnering with local schools, delivering to gas stations and hospitals, and making donations to help with special occasions, such as free donut cards for student awards.

They are enthused about Small Business Saturday this weekend and welcome everyone to drop by and see why Daylight Donuts has such a great reputation.
