MABLE LOVELESS CHRISTENSEN
March 28, 1934 ~ November 27, 2016
Mable Loveless Christensen, of Ogden, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2016. She was born on March 28, 1934 in Payson Utah, to Owen Parry and Virginia Harryman Loveless.
She married Donald Hyrum Christensen in Payson on May 24, 1952. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple. He passed away on June 12, 1997. She missed him dearly.
Mable grew up in Payson, often spending summers with her brother, Jerry, in San Francisco visiting her grandmother. She graduated from Payson High School in 1952. Mable worked for the Internal Revenue Service, serving her country for 24 years.
Mable was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in many callings including Compassionate Leader, Visiting Teacher, and Service Missionary at Temple Square in Salt Lake City.
Mable's family was her pride and joy. She loved each and every one of her “favorite” children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She adored her brothers, especially her youngest brother who always had her own private cabin ready for her every summer.
Mable enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. She made each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren personalized blankets and aprons embroidered with their names, as well as afghans for each member of her beloved family. She loved traveling with family and friends, playing games and cards with her many close friends. She attended the local Red Hat’s Club and rarely missed a Friday lunch with her long time friends “The Golden Girls.”
Mable is survived by her four children: Brent Christensen, Marcie (Steve) Gilgen, Gina Clawson and Mike Christensen; her brother, Jerry (Carole) Loveless; two sisters-in-law: Lorraine (Blaine) Loveless and Marilyn (Maynard) Christensen Tippetts and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and five brothers: John Parry Loveless, Blaine Harryman Loveless, Kenneth Owen Loveless, Gene Francis Loveless and Dan Raynor Loveless.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Colonial Springs Ward, 2360 N. 600 W. Harrisville, Utah. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Ogden, Utah, and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Evergreen Cemetery, 100 N Monroe Blvd. Ogden, Utah.
The family wishes to thank all those who provided her with such loving care during her time at McKay-Dee Hospital.
