Mike Hardy and Scott Phillips Retain Council Seats; Elk Ridge Election Sees Mayor Hal Shelley, Dale Bigler and Ed Christensen Prevailing

Mike Hardy and Scott Phillips have retained their positions on Payson’s City Council.  The incumbent council members were re-elected yesterday, with unofficial results indicating that  Councilman Phillips received the highest vote count, 703, with Councilman Hardy trailing close behind with 697 votes.  Running against the two incumbents in the race for city council were James Ewell, who garnered 636 votes, and Rhett Huff, who received 472.

Payson City Mayor Rick Moore ran unopposed and will continue to serve among city leaders.

Hal Shelley was reelected as Elk Ridge Town Mayor yesterday, after having 473 votes cast in his direction.  His opponent in the mayoral race, Jamie D. Towse received 193.

Voters elected Dale Bigler, with 435 votes, and Ed Christensen, who had 369, to serve on two seats open this year on the Elk Ridge Town Council.  Outgoing Councilwoman Erin Clawson received 260 votes, followed by council candidate Ryan Haskell, with 217.
