Payson's Newly Elected Leaders

Pictured (left-right) the evening after Payson City voters re-elected them to office: Councilman Scott Phillips, Mayor Rick Moore, and Councilman Mike Hardy.
Mike Hardy and Scott Phillips have retained their positions on Payson’s City Council.  The incumbent council members were re-elected yesterday, with unofficial results indicating that  Councilman Phillips received the highest vote count, 703, with Councilman Hardy trailing close behind with 697 votes.  Running against the two incumbents in the race for city council were James Ewell, who garnered 636 votes, and Rhett Huff, who received 472.

Payson City Mayor Rick Moore ran unopposed and will continue to serve among city leaders.

While the results are unofficial, members of the Payson City Council authorized City Recorder Jeanette Wineteer to schedule a canvass election for November 13, in order to allow enough time for absentee ballots to arrive by mail.  According to Ms. Wineteer, as of November 6, there were fifteen absentee ballots that needed to be included in the final vote tally. This week’s canvass will be held in the City building at 6 PM.
