HARTZELLS OVERSEE PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION THROUGHOUT PAYSON TEMPLE OPEN HOUSE

It is not uncommon to see Payson residents Jim and Pat Hartzell at work in the service of the community.  The Hartzells are among countless area residents volunteering at the Payson Temple.
Jim Hartzell was called to be Chairman of the Parking and Transportation Committee back in December, 2014.  He was felt honored and was excited to serve.  He quickly called his wife, Pat, to be the Committee Secretary and to oversee the Chapel parking plan, and Dennis Smith to be an Assistant Chairman and oversee the Temple parking plan.  Other Committee Members include Dennis’s wife, Bonnie, who helped with the Temple parking plan and organizing Prayer Meetings; Keith Evans, who helped with all the signage and equipment; George & Toni Dever, who were in charge of training the Stake Coordinators; Jan Anderson, who is over the gravel Volunteer parking lot; Mike Redzich, who was over signage; and Michael Tutton, who assisted Dennis in working on the Temple parking plan.
Everyone worked so hard to make sure the plans for the parking were as efficient as possible.  Then the plans were turned over to the Stake Coordinators to train all their volunteers so that each person would know just what they were supposed to do in order to park all the guests as quickly and efficiently as possible.
"I am grateful for the blessing it will be to Payson and surrounding communities to have a temple in our midst, especially one as beautiful as this one,” said Jim Hartzell.  “It has been a pleasure to work with so many good people.”
This has been an incredible experience as everyone worked together, praying, brainstorming, assisting each other to accomplish this enormous task.  We have often felt guided by the Spirit, and appreciated the humility and hard work that each member contributed.  When things needed to be changed, no one took offense, and each tried to lift the others up when they were sometimes discouraged.
“Working on this and seeing the vision of what could be has been amazing,” said Pat Hartzell.
“And being able to associate with such nice people has been an additional blessing.”
