Mourning the Passing of Friends: Forthcoming Funeral Service

SHIRLEY ANN MCMULLEN

Shirley Ann McMullen passed away on June 27, 2020 peacefully surrounded by her family. Shirley was born October 2, 1933 in Boise City, OK, to Alty and Violet Travelstead. Her parents moved to Boise, ID and she was raised there through her youth. She was the oldest of three.
She started dancing at a very young age, and at 16, she took over her mother’s dance school which consisted of over 200 students. She danced on Broadway for a period of time. She taught Ballroom Dance at BYU.
She married Bob Shows and had two daughters. She divorced and married Buck Everson and had two sons and was later divorced. In 1971, she met Robert McMullen and was married shortly after. He was her soulmate. After Bob joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, they were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple. She was an active member and served in many positions, her favorite being an ordinance worker in the Provo Temple.
She was an avid reader and read 2-3 books per week. She also loved to quilt and always had a pet and loved them dearly. She was spunky, fun and full of life. She took pride in her dress and appearance, and always looked beautiful. She loved anything unusual and different including people.
She and Bob loved Western Dancing and they were on a swing dance team. She has been without the love of her life for close to 15 years.
She is survived by Sabrina (Kevin) Kay of Santaquin, Utah, Stephanie (Barry) Smith of Denton, Texas, Lane (Jane Ann) Everson of Salem, Utah, and Logan Everson of St. George, Utah. Shirley has 13 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, step daughter, and great grandchild.
A special thanks to her Dr. Miller and his staff along with her ministering sisters for their time and love.
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 11 am at the Payson City Cemetery, 400 North 800 East, Payson, Utah. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the services at Walker Funeral Home 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah.
