Russell H Hutchinson
Russell H. Hutchinson, 92, died Jan 4, 2018 peacefully at his home in Salem, Utah. He was born June 21, 1925 in Springville Utah, the son of Harvey Lavell and Ella V. Daley Hutchinson. He married Arlis Virginia Douglass Dec 15, 1944 in their first home in Payson, Utah.
He attended schools in Springville and Payson, Utah. He joined the Navy at the age of 17 during WWII, serving on the USS Coral Sea Aircraft Carrier in the Pacific islands as a Gunners Mate.
He became a heavy equipment operator and was considered one of the best grader operator in the intermountain states. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local #3 for over 50 years; and was Payson City’s Superintendent of Roads after retiring from road construction.
He loved gardening and restoring antique cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Sister-in-law Marion.
He is survived by his wife Arlis; 2 children Val Hutchinson and Jan Butler, Son-in-law Russell Butler, 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Quinn Hutchinson and Harvey Lynn Hutchinson and Sister-in-Law Varo Hutchinson.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, Jan. 12 at 11:00 AM, in the Salem 4th ward LDS chapel, 25 West Apple Blossom Way. Viewing will be at the chapel at 9:30. Burial with military rites will be at the Payson City Cemetery, 400 N 800 E, Payson, Utah.
