Donald Edward VanNosdol
Donald Edward VanNosdol (Ted) passed peacefully from this life on January 30, 2019 with his loving wife by his side. Ted was born on December 29, 1937 to Myrtle Bronson and William VanNosdol in Mammoth, Utah.
Ted graduated from Payson High School in 1956. Upon graduation, he immediately joined the Marines and served for 3 years. He worked at Pacific States in Springville for 43 years retiring in 2001.
He married Mary Frances Barnett on September 16, 1960. Together they had 2 children. He was blessed to raise 2 of his grandchildren, Justin and Brittany in his home. 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren have made his life full and happy.
He loved serving as Scout Master with Dennis Dixon and Larry Howard. Ted served in the Lion's Club for many years.
He loved camping, fishing and hunting with his family and going to Mountain Man Rendezvous.
He is survived by his wife, sons Ty (Diane) of Payson, and Cory (June) of Payson, 7 grandchildren,16 great-grandchildren, sister Anna Rae Jolly (Harvey), sister-in-law's Deonna VanNosdol and Carylee Barnett, brother-in-law Keith Barnett (Darlynn).
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, mother and father-in-law, 3 brothers and, 1 brother-in-law.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson. A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will be held prior to service from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Payson City Cemetery.

Frank LaThair Garner
Frank LaThair Garner loving husband, father, son, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on January 30, 2019. Frank was born in Payson, Utah on January 31, 1936 to his loving parents James David Garner and Mary Eveline Hansen.
He graduated from Payson High School with the Class of 1955. He furthered his education with the
U.S. Air Force where he was honored to serve his country from 1955-1961. Frank was a great support
to his family and managed the family dairy farm while his father served a mission.
Frank married the love of his life, Marcia Gay Smith Garner on September 6, 1956 in the Salt Lake
Temple. He worked in various vocations, which included, 3 years at Thiokol as a Metrologist. In 1960
he developed and started an insulation business in Genola, Utah and worked there for 25 years.
He worked at the Dragon Mine in Eureka for 2 years and for 40 years before he retired he ran his own
electrical and insulation business. He was an amazing example, of hard work to his posterity.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Frank became an Eagle
Scout in 1952, with 26 other members of his troop. He enjoyed his calling as Scout Master and taught
his boys the importance of being a true Boy Scout. He had a great love for emergency preparedness
and teaching others the importance of being prepared. He held numerous callings in the church where
he was able to do what he loved most, serve.
Frank is survived by his wife, Marcia Gay Smith Garner, 6 children, Wade (Melanie) Garner, Elberta,
Utah, Gayle Garner, Sandy, Utah, Brent (Carla) Garner, Santaquin, Utah, Teresa (Keith) Casper,
Pleasant Grove, Utah, Trina (Bob) Williamson, Genola, Utah, Marcene (Shane) Perry, Genola, Utah,
31 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren whom he adored.
He is preceded in death by his parents James David Garner and Mary Eveline Hansen Garner, brothers,
Robert, Melvin and Marvin Garner, granddaughter Celia Muhlestein, grandson, Alexander Casper and
great-grandson Nolan Drake.
The family would like to thank Dr. Gary Garner, Bonnie Ballard Valdez, Richard Porter and the staff at
Seasons of Santaquin and the Central Valley Medical Center Home Health staff for the loving care
shown to our husband and father.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. located at the Genola 2nd Ward
of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 50 North Main Street, Genola, Utah. A viewing will
be held Monday, February 4, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. located at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100
West, Payson, Utah and again from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church.

Joyce Taylor Stevens Waite
Our beloved mother Joyce Taylor Stevens Waite, 75, of Payson, Utah passed away on January 22, 2019 after a valiant battle with cancer.
She was born July 17, 1943, the second of eight children to Frank and Nancy Stevens in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Joyce graduated from Green River High class of 1961. She attended BYU for a time but found her special talent in styling hair. She attended Mary Kama Beauty School where she graduated top of her class. She was a professional beautician for 40 years. It was more than just a job; she had a great love to help beautify others, and went on to serve family and friends, even up to a couple of months before she passed away.
Joyce married John Goodwin May 24, 1968 and they were blessed to adopt two children, Juliann Sharp of Sutherlin, Oregon and Rachel Mower of Payson, Utah. They lived in a variety of different places including, California, Nevada, Oregon and Utah. John died on August 5th, 1992. Joyce later married Cleve M. Waite on July 3, 1996. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple Oct. 22, 1998, and blended her two children and his eleven children.
Joyce had a firm testimony and love for Jesus Christ. Her greatest desire was that we as family would make good choices so that we could be together forever. She had many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and her favorite calling was working with the children in the girls’ activity day program. She enjoyed doing genealogy and finding her family names to take to the temple. She served as a temple worker in the Provo Temple 2001-2004 and Payson Temple from 2013 – 2018.
She is survived by her husband Cleve, 6 siblings, Janet (Lynn – deceased) Waddell, Franklin (Charlene) Stevens, Annette (Robert) Reese, Julie Stevens, John (Sue) Stevens, (Robert – deceased) Chris Stevens-Mower, Wade (Karen) Stevens, Warren Stevens (deceased), 13 children, Juliann (Laurence Michael – deceased) Sharp and Rachel Mower, Seth (Shelly) Waite, Kerri (Douglas) Hamrick, Lyle (Jeanene) Waite, Tamralyn (Randal) Thorup, Chrystal (Peter) Kwiatkowski, Amber (Trenton) Anderson, Ira (Kerri) Waite, Dayton (Jeneane) Waite, Cleve Jr. (Kari) Waite, Evelyn (Robert) Morris, and Bryan Waite, 42 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings, and a son-in-law.
There will be two viewings: The first will be Thursday, January 31 from 6pm to 8pm at Walker Mortuary 587 S 100 W, Payson, UT 84651. The second viewing will be Friday, February 1, 9:30-10:30 am at the South Stake Chapel 711 S. Peteetneet Blvd. Payson, UT 84651. There will be a family prayer at 10:30 and the funeral will immediately follow 11 am.

Maxine Farr White
1931-2019
Maxine Farr White, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, led a life filled with immeasurable charity, love, and service. On the morning of January 25, 2019, she peacefully returned home. Her tireless service and nurturing nature were boundless—she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Maxine was born on March 20, 1931 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Halvan Heber Farr and Lula Grace Blair. She spent her early childhood in Pleasant Grove and Provo, living with her grandparents until a new home in Provo was built. Later, to support a large extended family, their new home was sold and the family moved to a dairy farm on West Mountain in Payson, Utah.
Upon moving to Payson, Gilbert White, Jr., a seventh grader at Payson Junior High, spotted Maxine, a sixth grader, and their lifelong friendship commenced. In 1950, Maxine graduated as valedictorian from Payson High School, and on January 8, 1951, she and Gilbert were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. Their relationship was a beacon of authentic love, friendship, and respect to all around them. Maxine’s patience and resilience were also defining characteristics throughout her life as she gracefully faced unexpected trials.
Maxine and Gilbert raised their family in a historic Payson home, where they resided for 62 of their 68 years of marriage. The mother of seven children, Maxine had 66 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren, and tirelessly demonstrated love for each of them on an individual basis. She leaves a legacy of one-on-one care and compassion that will be cherished for generations.
Maxine was extraordinarily talented and applied her gifts in art, music, theatre, literature, and design throughout her life. She infused her unique eye for beauty and love into all of her labors, sharing indiscriminately with those around her. She was known for her melodious singing voice, and frequently performed at funerals and community events. Maxine and Gilbert maintained an immaculate yard and garden throughout their lives that provided a beautiful sanctuary for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren for decades.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Maxine served in numerous capacities such as young women president, relief society president, stake relief society president, counsellor, musician, teacher, visiting teacher, bishop’s wife, and stake patriarch’s wife. She openly shared her vibrant testimony and love for the gospel with her friends and family.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents Halvan Heber Farr and Lula Grace Blair; Clela, sister; Darell Barnett, brother-in-law; Larry, brother; Georgette Bremond, daughter-in-law; Spencer Stephen Hales, grandson; Stephen A. Hales, son-in-law; and Juliette Olea Mathis, great granddaughter.
Maxine is survived by her loving husband Gilbert White, Jr., Payson, Utah; children: Dru (Maeva) Salt Lake City, Utah; Rhett (Carrie) Washington, Utah; Wyn (John Howden) Payson, Utah; Codi (Wanda) Vernal, Utah; Calli, Provo, Utah; Wayd (Vicki) St. George, Utah; Shae (Kevin Clark) Elk Ridge, Utah; and her siblings Steven (Kathy) Payson, Utah; Nedra (Jay Taylor) Farmington, Utah; and Elaine, sister-in-law, Payson, Utah.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 30th at 11 a.m., at the Mountain View Stake Center, 75 South 600 East in Payson. A viewing will be held before the service from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. A viewing will also be held on Tuesday, January 29th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson. Darris Mark Balzly
Darris Mark Balzly, age 59, passed away on January 17, 2019 . He was born on January 29, 1959 in Payson, Utah to Merrell Layne and Myrtis Helen Jacobs Balzly. He attended school in Payson where he grew up.
He attended numerous certification classes over his lifetime in the automotive industry. He spent his life employed as a automotive technician.
Mark enjoyed visiting with family and helping people with car troubles. He loved classic cars and restoring them. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of automobiles with others.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Mark is survived by his mother Myrtis Helen McCormick, children: Candice (Nick) Nelson of Gratiot, OH, and Lewis (Tami) Balzly of Genola, UT, 4 grandchildren: McLayne Balzly, Carsten Balzly, Scarlett Balzly, Madelyn Balzly all of Genola, UT, brothers: Kyle (Maurine) Balzly of Rock Springs, WY, Edward (Kay) Balzly of Green River, WY, David Balzly of Payson, UT, sisters: Stephanie Balzly of Bayfield, CO, Anna Balzly of Tuscon, AZ, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Merrell Layne Balzly, cousin Lonny Morgan, and nephew Layne Balzly.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 12 p.m. NOON at the Genola LDS Chapel, 50 North Main Street, Genola, Utah. A visitation will be held prior to service from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be held at the Payson City Cemetery.

Dennis Oral Taylor
Dennis Oral Taylor, age 67, passed away on January 16, 2019 due to Multiple Myeloma. Dennis was born July 4, 1951 in Salina, Utah to Oral Calvert and Millie LaVeda Andrews Taylor.
He attended school in Aurora and Payson, Utah. He was raised on the family farm.
He married DeAnn Mitchell February 15, 1969 and they were sealed in the Manti Temple March 21, 1970. She passed away January 23, 1979. He married Katheryn Matthews on June 30, 1979 in Payson, Utah and they were sealed in the Manti Temple January 8, 1981.
Dennis was happiest when hunting, camping, riding horses, going to Fish Lake, and Boulder Mountain. He had a great sense of humor. He loved family reunions and his daily Pepsi run with his brother. He had a passion for music and loved to sing! He was a member of Trouveres and also played the guitar.
He spent twenty years working at Pacific States Steel. He was also a bus driver for Nebo School District, taking great pride in the fact that he took over his father’s former bus, at first driving his route, and then driving the teams for Springville High School.
Working with youth was very important to Dennis. He always had great faith in the youth, believing if they were trained and given the chance to grow on their own, they would accomplish great things. He spent many years working with young people as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America, and directing the Payson City Youth Court. He loved training scouts as director of Timberline camps. In 2001 he was awarded the Silver Beaver for his excellence in Scouting leadership. His direction of the city youth court reached other communities as he was a member of the State Youth Court Board and contributed to implementing the program around the state. He also enjoyed working with the staff and students at Payson High School as a campus supervisor.
Dennis was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served many years as a Young Men’s leader, Stake and Ward Young Men’s President, Stake Athletic Director, Ward Clerk, Primary Teacher and a favorite calling was serving as a Counselor in the Bishopric of the Payson YSA Ward.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Katheryn, children: Rhyn (Lori) Taylor, Scott (Gina) Taylor, Rob (Anjelica) Fenn, Tiffany (Cass) Taylor, Matt (Mindy) Fenn, Megan Fenn, Travis (Chellsea) Taylor, 25 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, siblings: Wayland (Pat) Taylor, Carol (Keith) Walker, Shanna (Mark) Hansen, Jeanine (Kerry) Stacey, Linda (Jeff) Petersen, and Janet (Travis) Franson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife DeAnn Mitchell, and in-laws, Glyn and Charmaine Matthews.
A viewing will be held Monday, January 21, 2019 from 6-8 p.m at Walker Funeral Home, 587 S. 100 W. Payson, Utah.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Payson Utah Stake Center, 650 West 800 South, Payson. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. at the same church. Interment will be held at the Payson City Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the nurses, aids, and doctors at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and BMT Clinic. They would especially like to thank Mary Steinbach (APRN), Janet Weidner (PA-C), Tibor Kovacsovics (MD) for their amazing treatment of Dennis and his family. They became family.
