Mourning the Passing of Friends: Forthcoming Funeral Services

Marva Loy Alcorn Eggett
1942-2018
“Marva-lous Marva”
Marva Loy Eggett, 75 years old, of Spring Lake, Utah, passed away on May 6, 2018 (which was also her husband’s 81st birthday).  She lived with Parkinson’s disease for 33 + years.  
She was born in Havre, Montana and attended schools in Chinook, Montana.  She attended BYU where she soon met Ronald Lloyd Eggett.  They fell in love and were married and sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS temple on March 27, 1960.  They lived in Great Falls, Montana for a short time and then moved to Spring Lake (Payson), UT, where they lived until 2015 when they moved into the Seasons of Santaquin assisted living facility.  
Marva Loy worked for a long time at Spencer’s Home Furnishings in Payson, and worked for many years at UVSC with the Elder Hostel program.    She served in many church callings in the Spring Lake Wards.  She served the community of Spring Lake and Payson in many ways.  She continued to learn and went back to BYU many years later to take classes in areas she enjoyed learning about.  She was a true “rock hound”.  She loved to do archeological digging in the Spring Lake area.  She loved history and helped in the re-burial of Indian Chief, Black Hawk.  She served on the committee to write the Spring Lake history book.  She was nominated and ran the Olympic torch for the 2002 Olympics.  She assisted in raising funds and helped establish the Peteetneet Museum as well as getting an elevator put in.
   
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ronald L. Eggett of Spring Lake, Utah; Her 7 children Mark (Carol) of Brigham City; Traci Eggett of SLC; Ronette (Wade) Hofeling of Spring Lake; Carolee (Ron) Adair of Las Vegas, NV; Kyle (Katie) of Rexburg, ID; Kent (Shelley) of Highland; and Dallin (Robin) of Fort Dodge, Iowa;  27 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, one brother Curtis (Brenda) Alcorn of Las Vegas, NV and many other family and loved ones.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Daniel (stillborn), and her Great grandbaby Kameron.

Funeral services  will be held on Tuesday, May 15th at  11 a.m. the Spring Lake LDS Chapel,12625 South Spring Lake Road, Payson, Utah.  A visitation will be held  on Monday, May 14th at Walker Mortuary in Payson, 587 South 100 West, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, May 15th at the Spring Lake Chapel from 9:30-10:30 p.m.
