“What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” ~ Helen Keller
Forthcoming funeral services are planned for the following friends from our community. Complete versions of these obituaries may also be found in The Payson Chronicle.
Lois Patricia Fannin
Lois Patricia Fannin “Pat” or “Pattie,” 85-years-old, of Payson, Utah, passed away May 10, 2018, only four months after the love of her life, Donald Fannin, passed. Pat was surrounded by a loving family who will miss her.
Pat was born on October 17, 1932. She was the second daughter of Gerald Edsel Hart and Dolores Headlee. Pat was married to Donald B. Fannin on February 28, 1957. Together they had Michael Don, Kerry Lynn and Nannette.
Mom and Dad supported each other always, in all ways. Mom enjoyed several jobs in her life, including upholstery, working in a flower shop and helping Dad with projects such as managing a dude ranch; and, cleaning up after a flood in Idaho. If Dad found a project, he would include his family in the process. The family motto was “We work hard to play hard”.
Mom loved to cook. She would cook for many people throughout her lifetime in varying settings. People have commented on her sourdough pancakes at the dude ranch, picnics at their home in Payson, and her baking the best cinnamon rolls in town.
Mom loved babies. She would stand in line in the grocery store and spot a baby, go over to the baby praising the parents. This went on even when she was in the care facility and couldn’t resist paying attention to a staff member who brought her baby in just to show the residents.
Mom was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served 3 missions with her husband, Don. Mom said that her favorite calling in the church was teaching the 12-year-olds in Sunday School.
Mom is survived by her two daughters: Kerry Fannin and husband, Randy Spadafora; Nannette Despain and husband, Kerry Despain; 12 grandchildren and 32 greatgrandchildren. Pat was preceded in death by her sweetheart, Donald B. Fannin; and her son, Michael Don Fannin.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Walker Mortuary in Payson, Utah. A visitation will be held from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be at the Santaquin City Cemetery.
Special thanks to the staff at Orchard Park Rehab and Envision Home Health and Hospice for the wonderful care and love provided to Pat and her family.
