Mourning the Passing of Friends: Forthcoming Funeral Services

Forthcoming funeral services are planned for the following friends from our community. Complete versions of these obituaries may also be found in The Payson Chronicle.

DoroLou Horrocks Clayson
DoroLou Horrocks Clayson passed away peacefully on July 30, 2019 at her home.  
DoroLou, a lifelong resident of Santaquin, Utah was born April 2, 1028 in Santaquin to Darrel and Sara Melva Wall Horrocks. She attended Santaquin Elementary and Jr. High Schools and graduated from Payson High as one of the “Chicks of ‘46”. DoroLou excelled in school and had a special love for math.
She was employed by Nebo School District as a lunch lady where she did the baking for Payson High and Santaquin Elementary Schools. 
DoroLou was a giving, generous and caring person, never forgetting a birthday or special occasion. She supported her children and grandchildren in athletics, arts and other activities throughout her life. 
She was an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Santaquin Senior Citizens and spending time with her “Club” friends. 
DoroLou Married Vern H. Clayson in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 4, 1946 and were later sealed in the Provo, Utah Temple. They enjoyed taking short vacations with their children; camping and fishing were common family activities. DoroLou would read while Vern fished but she was an expert at fileting, preparing and cooking the catch. 
DoroLou is preceded in death by her parents Darrel and Sara Melva Horrocks, husband Vern H. Clayson, Sisters Arla Smith, Yvonna Sutherland, and brother Jimmy Horrocks. DoroLou is survived by a Sister Colleen (Clair) Pay and her children Floyd V. Clayson, Lynn (Karen) Clayson, Karen (Michael) Daniels, Nadine (Larry) Hall, Sara, Katherine (Roy) Crouch, 16 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. 
Friends may call at the Brown Funeral Home Sunday August 4th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM (66 South 300 East, Santaquin, Ut) and at the church prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:30. Services will be Monday August 5th at 11:00 Am in the Santaquin 13th Ward Chapel located at 90 South 200 East, Santaquin, UT with interment in the Santaquin City Cemetery. 
The family expresses their gratitude to “I Care”, with special thanks to Bonnie and Cami for their caring service to DoroLou.
