Thousands of Used Books Up for Grabs As Friends of Payson Library Prepares for Sale

by Steve Southwick

Book browsing is fun. And there will be thousands of books to do just that on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 8 AM - 3 PM, at the Friends of Payson Library Sidewalk Sale.   The annual used book sale will be in the Breezeway next to Payson Library on Main Street, in conjunction with  the upcoming celebration of Onion Days.

Thousands of donated, duplicate, out-of-print books, paperbacks, CDs, movies, videos and magazines will be up for sale at “clear-em out” prices.   Prices will start at about $1.00 for hardbacks with reduced pricing on the rest.

History, children’s, LDS and other faith based books, novels, romance, mystery, fantasy-science fiction, classics and self-help books are extremely well represented.   Best selling fiction authors such as Ken Follett, Dean Koontz and John Grisham are available.

All funds raised by Friends of Payson Library are used for supplementing library materials and supplying upgrades to the library.

Inside the library the annual Scholastic book sale will be conducted by library staff Saturday, September 5th following the Children’s Parade from about 11 AM to 5 PM.  On Monday September 7th, the Scholastic sale continues following the parade until 5 PM.
