Rebecca Lee Peery Paintings Featured in Peteetneet Exhibit; Artist Reception Slated for Friday

"The Millionth Missionary" -- Oil Painting by local artist, Rebecca Lee Peery

The art of Rebecca Lee Peery will be on display at the Peteetneet Museum Gallery through the end of February.  This lovely exhibit, which opens with an Artist Reception this Friday, is made up of all original oil paintings, including three large missionary paintings that have appeared in various publications, as well as paintings by the artist depicting scenes in Africa.

"I went to Kenya with my husband in 2010 and took the photos that I paint," explained Ms. Peery. "I've done quite a bit of traveling, so I have paintings of Amsterdam and Holland as well. I paint a variety of subject matter, from landscapes to people, hot air balloons and animals."

Ms. Peery adds, "I have painted on LDS Temple murals with Linda Curley Christensen and a team of artists since 2006, starting with the Panama Temple. I also painted on the Draper mural and both murals for the Oquirrh Mountain Temple, the San Salvador,  Hondurus, Kona, Batton Rouge and the Fiji Temple."

The Artist Reception, planned for Friday, January 15, runs from 6-8 PM at the Peteetneet Museum Gallery, 10 North 600 East, in Payson.  The public is invited to attend.
