Newly elected officials are taking oaths of office this week in towns and cities throughout the area. Elk Ridge Town Council members (pictured left-right), Tricia Thomas, Ty Ellis, Nelson Abbott, and Brittany Thompson swore to serve the public that elected them to office in November. Royce Swensen, Elk Ridge Town Recorder (far right) officiated today’s ceremony. Meanwhile, in Payson, three new councilmembers, Linda Carter, Brian Hulet, and Doug Welton did the same. A more public oath-taking ceremony is expected to take place on Wednesday evening, January 6, as the three begin their terms at the first Payson City Council meeting of the new year.
