Mourning the Passing of Friends: Forthcoming Funeral Services

Warren L. Ahlin

Warren L. Ahlin, one of the last true cowboys and loving family man, passed away Christmas Day, December 25, 2017 after battling a courageous 7 month fight against pancreatic cancer.  He was surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren and many other family members and friends.

Warren was born February 22, 1935 in Fountain Green, Utah to Theodore L. and Zola Ann Holman Ahlin where he was raised.  He attended school in Santaquin where he was Student Body President in 9^th grade.  He graduated from Payson High School in 1953 and attended Provo Trade Tech College.

Warren married his high school sweetheart, Thelma Morgan of Goshen, Utah August 29, 1953 in Goshen and made their home in Santaquin.  They are the parents of Pam Ahlin and Joanne Ahlin Gleave.  Warren and Thelma enjoyed many adventures over the past 64+ years, wintering in Arizona and summers in Idaho, and memories and trips too many to count at their home and cattle ranch in Santaquin.

Warren had a few long-term careers starting with driving/delivering for Pacific Fruit Co. of Provo where he worked for 10 years.  He then worked for Thorn Rock Products driving cement mixers and bulk cement trucks for 15 years.  His last career was with UDOT in Spanish Fork where he became Supervisor over the Spanish Fork shed until he retired after 20+ years at his UDOT career.  But Warren’s true love and interest was the 70+ years he spent at the family ranch raising beef cattle, horses and numerous crops.

Some of Warren’s accomplishments and services include Secretary/Treasurer and President of Payson Cattlemen’s Assn. He also served on the board of Summit Creek Water Assn.  Warren and Thelma also judged for the Nephi Ute Stampede Rodeo Queens.

Warren loved anything outdoors from ranching, riding horses, fishing, hunting, camping, family trips, riding ATV’s and UTV’s and especially gardening in his beautiful yards with Thelma, the love of his life, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife Thelma; 2 daughters, Pam Ahlin and Joanne (Robbie) Gleave; 4 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; and his brother and best friend for life, Eddie (Colleen) Ahlin.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Warren was such a strong, kind-hearted, honest, loving and giving husband, Dad and Grandpa.  We are truly blessed to have had this great man in our lives.  God speed you sweet silver-haired cowboy.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 30^th at 11:00 am the Summit Ridge LDS Church, 591 Summit Ridge Parkway in Santaquin.  Friends may call at the Brown Family Mortuary, 66 South 300 East, Santaquin Friday 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to services.  Burial, Santaquin City Cemetery.
