The second period of architectural development in Payson, Utah, occurred
between 1875 and 1890. This was the first significant phase of
development in the city's business district. Some of the first
substantial storefronts replaced many of the earlier frame
buildings. There have been forty-seven buildings that are identified
with this period. A more elaborate example of the commercial district
is the former Payson Savings and Loan Building, located at 7 South
Main. Read more about this and other buildings from this period in
the next edition of The Payson Chronicle.
