Mourning the Passing of Friends: Forthcoming Funeral Services

“What we have once enjoyed we can never lose.  All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” ~ Helen Keller

Forthcoming funeral services are planned for the following friends from our community. Complete versions of these obituaries may also be found in The Payson Chronicle.

Clela Hill Gansert

Our sweet daughter, mom, sister, and grandma Clela HIll Gansert, 66, passed away of cancer
at her home February 27, 2018.  Her daughter, Heather Pedersen, and son, Jeff Poulson, were
at her side.

Clela was born June 15, 1951, a daughter of Junior and Carole Garbett Hill.

She was an extra special student throughout her school years, graduating from Payson High
School with high honors in 1969.

She attended Snow College for two years.  She met Douglas Poulson of Redmond, Utah, there.
When Doug was on his two-year mission for the LDS Church, Clela was a teacher’s aide at Park
View School.

They were married December 9, 1972, in the Manti Temple.  They lived in West Jordan, Utah,
where they raised their family.  Doug died in 1996.

Clela was a devoted wife, mother, and member of her church.  She was a beautiful seamstress
and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and needlepoint.

On June 9, 2004, Clela married Horst “Sam” Gansert.  They made their home in Salton City,
California. They loved their little oasis in the desert by the Salton Sea.  Sam died July 15, 2011.

She is survived by her four children: Heather (John) Pedersen, West Jordan, Utah, April Bosco,
Cedar City, Utah, Jeff (Tala) Poulson, Castleford, Idaho, and Stephanie, West Valley City, Utah;
eleven grandchildren: Mathew, Samantha, Marcus, Andrew, David, Christaphor, Kloey, Mazzy,
Courtney, Shawn, and Zailie; her mother, Carole Hill, Payson, Utah; her three brothers: Jack
(Theresa), Sandy, Utah, Kevin (Jennifer), Magna, Utah, and Tracy, Payson, Utah; several
step-children in California.

A special thanks to Tanya Staib for her care.

Preceding her in death: her dad, Junior C. Hill, her husbands, Douglas Poulson and Sam
Gansert, and special grandmother, Eunice Garbett; also many relatives and friends.

No services were held per Clela’s request.
