Mourning the Passing of Friends: Forthcoming Funeral Services

Bonnie Joyce Clement Kay Olson


Bonnie Kay Olson, age 87 of Santaquin, Utah, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 in Payson, Utah. She was born September 13, 1930 in Provo, Utah to Darius Salem and Ina Larsen Clement, the oldest of three children. She married Owen Don Kay on April 5, 1952 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He passed away March 19, 2004. Bonnie later married Myron V. Olson on February 12, 2011. He passed away September 7, 2015.

Bonnie was raised in Eureka, where she attended school and was involved in many activities including the band, as the drum majorette. She graduated from Tintic High School in 1948.

Bonnie worked at Lairds Market and Centennial Mine doing clerical work in Eureka. She was a clerk at the U.S. Post Office in Santaquin for 5 years then as Post Master for 18 years. She retired November 20, 1992. Bonnie was an active member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Roto Remus Club and the Santaquin Senior Citizens for many years. She was a member of the LDS Church serving in many capacities.

Bonnie enjoyed reading, quilting, sewing, crocheting and decorating her home for Christmas. Most of all she loved her family and spoiling her grandchildren.

Bonnie is survived by her daughters; Janice Memmott, Elizabeth (Mike) Robertson, both of Santaquin; 6 grandchildren; Jared, Keven, Brett, Chad, Kimberly and Tyson, 22 great grandchildren, step children; Mike Olson, Deanne Van Ausdal, Dan Olson and Scott Olson, sister Lael Lofgran and brother, Dee (Margie) Clement.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Don Kay and Myron Olson, son-in-law Ronny Memmott.

The family would like to thank the staff at Country Lane, Paige Steele and Holly Gardiner for their care and love they gave to Mom.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Santaquin LDS Stake Center, 45 South 500 West. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah and on Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Santaquin City Cemetery.
