Arnie Beddoes

Arnold Dale Beddoes, 72 of Payson, Utah passed away surrounded by his family on June 12, 2019. He fought a valiant fight with prostate cancer. He was born on January 27, 1947 in Payson, Utah to his loving parents LaVon Max Beddoes and Bessie Limb. He attended Payson High School where he enjoyed playing football and basketball, he graduated with the class of 1965. He married his sweetheart LeeAnn Jensen on July 1, 1967 and they were later sealed in the Provo, Utah temple on March 20, 2014. They together raised five beautiful children.

As a teenager, he worked at The American Service Station in downtown Payson and at the young age of 18 Arnie started his career working in the mines of Eureka. He worked in the Burgin, the Trixie, the Apex, and the Mammoth mines. He excelled at mining and worked as a mine foreman for many years.  After working 30 years, the mines shut down and he knew he had to find work elsewhere. An idea that he had for a long time was to build a gas station on the south end of Payson. That idea was realized in 1994 when he opened Arnie B's Chevron. He put his heart and soul in making Arnie B's a successful business.

In 1995 Arnie started the annual Arnie B’s Car Show that continued for 22 years, each year it had a bigger focus on raising money for the food bank. As he talked about raising money he would ask, “Have you ever been hungry, really hungry?” So raising money for the food bank was dear to his heart.

Arnie, helped countless people, he was very generous and kind. He truly loved to connect with people and was a friend to everyone. He loved giving back to his community and serving others. He enjoyed classic cars and loved the time he put in restoring a 63 Ford Galaxie. He enjoyed playing his guitar, golfing, deer hunting, Nascar races, collecting guns, prospecting in the desert, and working in the temple as an ordinance worker. He also enjoyed assisting the veterans when they attended the temple.

Arnie held family very dear to his heart. He enjoyed making memories and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many capacities.

Arnie is survived by his wife LeeAnn, mother Bessie, children Shannon (Sam) Ellsworth of Santaquin, Justin (Janece) Beddoes of Salem, Jake Beddoes of Payson, Emilee (Adam) Cummings of Santaquin, Jonathan Beddoes of Phoenix, Arizona, grandchildren, Blake (Megan), Jayden, Tess, Max, Audrey, Garrett, Hunter, Brennan, Mia, Alivia, Grace, Ethan, and a great grandchild, Camden.

He is proceeded in death by his father, Max, his grandson, Rhett Bowles and his in-laws, Heber Karl Jensen and Nettie Marble.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. located at the Payson 10th Ward, 780 West 500 South, Payson, Utah.
