Famed Author Tito Momen and Friend Special Guests at Lions Event

Tito Momen (pictured second from right), co-author of My Name Used to Be Muhammad: The True Story of a Muslim Who Became a Christian, an autobiographical account of his upbringing in Nigeria and eventual religious transformation, was among special guests at last night’s Payson Lions Club meeting, held at the SESD Office.  Mr Momen and friend, Okey (second from left), a Nigerian student attending Utah Valley University in Orem, whom Mr Momen assists during his stay, arrived by invitation of Payson Lion Neil Millman (center).  Mr Millman’s humanitarian work outside Lionism includes his service as director over the non-profit organization Love At Work, which he founded. Pictured with them (far left, then far right) are Payson Lions Club members and longtime contributors, Natalie and Ross D. Frandsen, OD.  From his clinic in the Payson Walmart, Dr Frandsen provides eye exams to Nebo School District students whose families are in dire economic need. He does so, at times, out of his own pocket as he takes part in a cooperative effort with the local Lions Club and school district.  Meanwhile, through fundraising activities and help from donors, Payson Lions pay for the eyeglasses and other eye care requirements for these children.
