Mourning the Passing of Friends: Forthcoming Funeral Services

Laura Kay Beddoes

Laura “Kay” Beddoes, 81, of Spring Lake, Utah passed away on February 4, 2018 in her home.
Kay was born on January 5, 1937 in Spring Lake, Utah to Wayne and Fern Cowan Benson. She
attended school in Spring Lake and Payson. She graduated from Payson High School in 1955.

She married Walter R Callaway; together they had Shane and Greg Callaway.
They were later divorced.  She later married Shirl L. Beddoes, together they had Jared Beddoes.

Kay worked at Headstart as a teacher. She loved working with children. She was also on the
Spring Lake Committee and helped compile the Spring Lake history book.  She was very proud
of being a “Spring-Laker” and the fact that she lived in the house she was born in. She loved working
in her yard, being outdoors, fishing and camping. She loved her dog, Gunner; they shared toast together
every morning.  She took Gunner for a “walk” in the back of her car twice a day to check on her beloved
little town. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was well
known by all family friends and acquaintances as “Grandma Kay” She loved having everyone over for
her famous annual Christmas and Easter celebrations.

Kay was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Kay is survived by her children Greg (Annette) Callaway, Jared (Heather) Beddoes, Step-son
Burke (Nancy) Beddoes, daughter-in-law Jeanette (Lance) Wineteer, seven grandchildren, and 10-1/2
great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Pat Huff (Ross).

She is preceded in death by her husband Shirl L. Beddoes, her parents, siblings Glen, Utahna and Lola,
her son Shane Callaway, and grandsons Brayden and Keian Beddoes.

Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Walker Funeral Home,
587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 from
6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. There will also be a visitation prior to service from 10-10:45 a.m.
