Keith James Ewell
Our husband, father, and grandfather, Keith James Ewell, age 76, from Payson, Utah, passed away peacefully on Feb 22, 2018 due to complications from cancer.
Keith was born on February 2, 1942 in Genola, UT. He was the third child and second son of Zachariah Henry Ewell Jr. and Mary Lucile Vest. At age 16 he met the love of his life, Carol Ann Ottesen. The two dated throughout high school. In 1961 Keith was called to serve in the Central States Mission. He returned home to marry his high school sweetheart on October 11, 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple. Keith went on to attend Dixie college. They moved back to Payson to raise their family. In his later years, he served a mission with his sweet wife in Springville, UT at the church employment office. During his spare time Keith loved to work on genealogy, indexing and gardening. He worked many years at Geneva Steel as a roller in the temper mill. After retiring from Geneva he worked at Ace hardware, where he loved to talk to everyone about nuts, bolts, and paint. He had the knack of being able make almost anything work.
Keith will forever be remembered as a caring and kind-hearted man. He was a great example of love, kindness, loyalty and happiness. He was full of integrity and would do anything to help anyone.
Keith is survived by his wife, Carol Ewell, his two sons and their wives; James and Leslie Ewell, Keven and Allison Ewell, his two daughters and their husbands; Christina and Paul Bates, Clarissa and Daniel Flink, his 13 grandchildren: Austin Ewell, Brianne Ewell, McKenzie and Nathan Palmer, Brittany and Devin Frampton, Bethany Ewell, Brendan Bates, James Robert Ewell, Kirsten Bates, Zachary Ewell, Connor Flink, and Alex Flink and his sisters; Renae Keele and Mary Lou Sperry.
